At India Reels, your privacy is not a checkbox — it's a commitment. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have. Written in plain English (and plain Hindi where it matters).
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — name, email, phone number (when you sign up), the reels you upload, your comments, likes and follows. We also collect device data such as device model, OS version, language and approximate location (city-level) to deliver a relevant feed. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly enable it.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data helps us personalize your feed, recommend creators you may like, prevent abuse and spam, send transactional emails (account-related), and improve product performance. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Period.
3. Content You Upload
Reels and comments you upload are public by default. You retain full ownership of your content. By uploading, you grant India Reels a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display and distribute that content on our platform. You can delete your content at any time and we will remove it from our servers within 30 days.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We use privacy-respecting analytics (aggregated, anonymized) to understand how the platform is used. No third-party advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with: (a) cloud infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN) under strict data-processing agreements; (b) law enforcement when legally required by a valid Indian court order; (c) optionally with creators you choose to collaborate with. That's it.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access controls. While no system is 100% breach-proof, we follow best practices and conduct periodic security audits.
7. Your Rights
Under Indian data protection law you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, delete your account and all associated data, port your content out, and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India. Email privacy@india-reels.com to exercise any of these rights.
8. Children's Privacy
India Reels is intended for users 13 years and older. If you are under 18, please use the platform with parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child is using the platform, please report it to support@india-reels.com.
9. International Users
India Reels is hosted in India and primarily serves Indian users. If you access the platform from outside India, your data will be transferred to and processed in India.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
